Update prices across a catalog with one percentage

When your price list changes, you don’t open lamp after lamp. Enter the increase once and it applies to the whole catalog.

In short

To update prices across a catalog in Lucy, open Adjust prices in your dashboard, enter the percentage increase and click Apply to all. The increase goes onto every lamp that has a price, is rounded to a whole number and shows in your public catalog right away. One-off changes are made on each product’s edit page.

When a percentage adjustment helps

  • A new supplier list

When your supplier raises its list by a flat percentage, you pass the increase on to the whole catalog in one move.

  • Prices that move often

When prices change frequently, as peso prices do in Argentina, updating lamp by lamp becomes a recurring chore. The adjustment makes it one step.

  • Catalog, screen and QR stay current

The online catalog, TV mode and whatever people see after scanning your QR code all pick up the new price, with nothing to reprint or resend.

  • Fewer typos

One number applied evenly avoids the extra or missing zero that creeps in when you edit lots of prices by hand.

How to update prices across your catalog

  1. 1

    Open Adjust prices

In your dashboard, the price adjustment button sits next to the TV Mode button.

  2. 2

    Enter the percentage

Type the increase you want. Decimals are accepted, so you can match a supplier’s exact percentage.

  3. 3

    Apply to all

When you confirm, each lamp with a price goes up by that percentage and the result is rounded to the nearest whole number.

  4. 4

    Check the result

A notice confirms how many products were updated. Your public catalog already shows the new prices.

What happens when you update prices across a catalog

It’s a flat percentage increase. It takes each lamp’s current price, adds the percentage and rounds to a whole number, without cents. Lamps with no price stay as they are.

It applies to every product with a price, whether it’s in pesos or dollars. If your catalog mixes currencies and the increase is only meant for peso prices, remember that dollar-priced lamps go up too, and correct them afterward on their edit pages.

What the bulk adjustment doesn’t do

Know its limits before you use it, because the change is saved immediately.

  • It doesn’t lower prices. The percentage has to be greater than zero.
  • It doesn’t work by category or supplier. It covers the whole catalog.
  • It doesn’t show a preview before applying.
  • There’s no undo button. If you make a mistake, fix each price on its edit page.

How to work out the right percentage

Increases compound. If you apply one increase and then another, the second is calculated on the already raised price, so the final result is slightly higher than the two percentages added together.

If your supplier sends new prices as amounts rather than a percentage, work out the average increase, apply it to everything, and then fix by hand the lamps that end up off. If you want round prices for the window, rounding to a whole number won’t get you there, so make those touch-ups lamp by lamp.

Frequently asked questions

Can I lower prices across the whole catalog?

Not with the bulk adjustment, which only applies increases. For a markdown or a promotion, edit the price on each lamp’s edit page. The change shows in your public catalog as soon as you save.

Can I adjust only some lamps?

The percentage adjustment covers every lamp with a price. To change a specific group, like one supplier’s line, edit those products one by one from your dashboard. Each edit shows in the catalog as soon as you save.

What happens to lamps without a price?

Nothing. The adjustment only touches products that have a price. Lamps without one stay in the catalog, unpriced, and customers can ask you about them on WhatsApp. If you add a price later, the next adjustment includes it.

How is the new price rounded?

To the nearest whole number, without cents, which is how the catalog displays prices. If you prefer round figures for the window, touch up those lamps on their edit pages after the adjustment.

Does the increase show in the catalog right away?

Yes. Prices are saved when you apply the adjustment, and your public catalog and lamp pages show the new price the next time someone opens them. If TV mode is running, close it and open it again.
